Erica Zabkar

Erica, who is from Roswell, Georgia, is a former student at Universal Tennis Academy. She played collegiately for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned First Team All Southern Conference honors. As an assistant Women’s Tennis Coach at UNCG, Erica helped guide the Spartans to a Southern Conference regular-season championship in 2012. She won the 2012 ITA Carolinas Assistant Coach of the Year award. While continuing her master’s degree, Erica worked with juniors at Green Valley Swim & Tennis Club in Greensboro, NC.

Erica earned a Master’s (2011) and Bachelor’s (2008) of Science in Kinesiology from the UNCG. She completed Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) in May 2014. She is currently a certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer. Erica enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities.

Stewart Russell

Stewart Russell is originally from Northport, New York and graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, Va. with a degree in Sociology. Stewart directs the junior and adult programs at James Creek Tennis Center and Legacy Park Tennis Center.

Stewart most recently (September 2024) received his Master Professional accreditation with RSPA (formerly USPTA).  This is the highest recognition offered by the RSPA.  It is reserved for those members that have demonstrated mastery of all aspects of tennis teaching and management, as well as achievements over the course of their career.

Stewart has been a USTA National Junior Player Development coach who participated in Regional and National events hosted by the USTA.  Before joining Universal Tennis Academy, Stewart was the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia for five years. He was also the Director of Tennis at Brookstone Country Club in Acworth, Ga. He has a comprehensive and extensive background in teaching players of all ages and ability levels.

Stewart and his wife Penny have two children. Their daughter, Taylor, is a certified personal trainer in Savannah and their son, Justin, played baseball at Kennesaw State University and currently serves as a Marietta Police Officer and a member of their SWAT unit.

Work in the Community:
– Member of the USTA National Junior Development coaching staff for 12 years
– Volunteer in all teach-a-thons to help raise funds for AYTEF and Chattahoochee Foundation
– Coordinator of Northside Hospital Tennis against Breast Cancer annual event @ James Creek TC for 15 years.

Clement Darko

Clement was born in Accra, Ghana where he learned to play tennis. In 1998, he was named to Ghana’s Davis Cup team and he competed professionally on the men’s tennis circuit. He was consistently ranked Nationally in the top 5 and achieved a top 80 ranking on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit. He won two junior doubles tournaments with partner Lleyton Hewitt. As a junior, he was brought to the United States on a tennis scholarship to the world-famous John Newcomb Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas. He has coached several highly ranked junior players. Clement has coached tennis for over ten years and is USPTA and GPTA Certified. In his spare time, Clement enjoys playing soccer and working out in the gym.

Gabriella Kovacs

Gabriella is originally from Szazhalombatta, Hungary and attended Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga. Gabriella played on the Pirates Tennis Team from 2006 – 2010. During those four years, the team won three National Championships and Gabriella was named All American five times. She received a degree in English – communications and in Public Health.

Gabriella started to teach tennis while she was in high school years when she coached children ages 3-12 years old. She enjoys coaching younger children as well as competitive juniors. She also works with adults of all ability levels. Gabriella still enjoys competing and continues to play in professional ITF and Challenger tournaments.

Barbora Krtickova

Barbora is originally from Nove Mesto nad Metuji, Czech Republic. In junior years she was among the best in the Czech Republic. She won the prestigious Czech Junior National Championship “Pardubicka Juniorka” in doubles in 2008. Barbora also played on the WTA tour, with her highest WTA ranking 652. in singles, and 539. in doubles. During her professional career she won 2 doubles titles, one in Greece, one in Hungary. She also played singles finals of 10K tournament in Morocco. 

She attended Armstrong State University where she became one of the best players in Division II. During her college career she was ranked the highest #2 in Singles and #1 in doubles. She won Super Bowl of Small College in singles in 2012, and in doubles in 2010 and 2012. She was named All-American eight times. With her team, she won the Division II Team National Championship in 2012 and 2013. Barbora graduated in 2014 with a degree in Health and Human Performance. 

She went on to get her master’s degree in Sport Administration at Georgia State University while she was also assisting with Emory University women’s tennis team. In 7 years that Barbora coached the Emory women’s team, the team won Division III National Championship twice in 2016 and 2021, was in 3 championship finals in 2015, 2017, and 2018. The team also won the ITA Indoor National Championship in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Barbora has been coaching tennis for over 10 years and is PTR Certified. While she has coached some top Division III college players, she also enjoys working with kids and adults of any age and level.

Maria Genovese

Maria Genovese is originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan but moved to the United States in 2006 to pursue a professional tennis career in Bradenton, Florida. Maria reached a high ranking of #99 in the world in her junior career and has played competitively in both the ITF Juniors and ITF Pro Circuit tournaments before beginning her college career. 

Maria first played for Tyler Junior College (TJC) in 2017-2019, where she was named National NJCAA Sophomore Player of the Year in 2019; National Line 1 Singles National Champion in 2019; National 2 Singles and Line 1 Doubles Champion in 2018, and won the ITA Cup JUCO Singles and Doubles titles, posting an 8-0 record. After performing on the JUCO level, Maria transferred to Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) where she became a six-time ITA Singles and Doubles All-American (2022, 2021, and 2020) and two-time ITA South Regional Singles Champion (2020 and 2019). Maria also helped win the 2022 and 2021 teams with the NAIA National Title and captured the NAIA Singles National Title in 2020 and NAIA Doubles National Title in 2021. By the end of her college career, Maria was ranked #1 in the NAIA in both Singles and Doubles. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of English Writing & Rhetoric and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Digital and Social Media Communication. 

Maria began coaching in 2016 and has coached throughout her college career. She enjoys coaching kids of all ages, as well as competitive juniors and adults. Maria still competes in UTR Pro events on various occasions. Some of her interests include exploring Atlanta, photography, and attending sports and music events.

Willy Campos

Willy Campos is an outstanding Venezuelan tennis coach and former player, with a remarkable career both as a Player
and on his coaching Career developing new talents and helping the players grow, on and off the court.
As a player, Willy was also named a Davis Cup player for four years and has had success in ITF and ATP tournaments,
being champion and finalist in seven future tournaments in Doubles.

Willy graduated in Physical Education from Troy University, Alabama in 2001. During his time in college, he excelled as
a tennis player, achieving All-American recognition in NCAA Division 1, with an individual best singles ranking of #48
and doubles ranking of #19.

Willy has achieved International Tennis Federation (ITF) Level 3 coaching, which is the highest level of certification in
the organization. As well as USPTR Level 2.

Willy has also helped develop players to the highest competition level such as ATP, WTA, ITF and Grand Slams
competitions, juniors and Professional Tennis. Since 2010, he has been the coach of the Venezuelan National Tennis
Team, assuming the role of captain in various international events, including Pan American Games and Central American
Games, as well as in other events of the Olympic cycle.

As a Leader, he has been captain of the Venezuelan Davis Cup team for two periods: from 2010 to 2014 and again in
2023. And he is also the Billie Jean king Cup’s Captain Since 2017. He has been leading and directing great High
Performance programs in Venezuela and Mexico over the last 15 years.

Willy and his wife Maria Alejandra have 3 children. Alessandro 18yrs old, who is playing College Soccer in Maryland.
Vittoria 15yrs old, a Gladiator in life and a great Tennis player, and Adriano a 4yrs old super energetic kid.

Patrick Masiyazi

Patrick Masiyazi was born in a city called Mutare in Zimbabwe.  There he started playing tennis, chess, and swimming at age 9.  He played in inter provincial (state) tournaments from junior to college tennis.  Patrick coached at Belvedere and University of Zimbabwe.  He graduated with a Mathematics degree and taught for 4 years before he was appointed National Director by Tennis Zimbabwe.

He coached and traveled extensively in Africa and Europe with National, Junior and Senior Davis Cup teams.  He was National Examiner for coaches and umpired Davis Cup teams such as USA, Italy, Croatia, Australia, Nigeria, and Kenya.  

Patrick coached in South Africa based on Sandton Sports Club where he coached top juniors rising to represent Gauteng Prov (state) teams.  He played and captained Bundesliga Tennis teams.  He has coached juniors who went on to represent University and College teams in USA, such as Georgia State, USC, SMU, and 20 others.

Patrick is a PTR and USPTR member who moved to the USA in February 2024.  He is a dedicated and professional tennis coach, keen golfer, and chess player.

Daniel Harden

Daniel Harden is a RSPA certified tennis and pickleball professional, with over 15 years of full-time teaching experience in the states of FL, SC, and ID.

Being from Columbus, he has just relocated back to his home state of Georgia to be closer to friends and family. 

Daniel played college tennis at the NCAA Division I level at Georgia Southern University. After college, he competed in Ultimate Tennis in Tampa and won the singles league six times at the 6.0 level. In the spring of 2023 Daniel competed in the world’s largest Pickleball Tournament, The US Open, where he took home silver in Men’s singles and bronze in Men’s doubles in the 5.0 division. 

Daniel’s teaching style combines simple concepts and techniques with easy-to-understand strategy.  His energetic and enthusiastic personality makes him a great fit for all players. 

Off court, Daniel enjoys the beach, parks, spending time with his friends and family, and all things related to sports and fitness.
