UTA at Blackburn Tennis Center offers a comprehensive junior tennis program for children of all ages and abilities. We provide tennis classes for beginner, intermediate, advanced, and elite junior players, starting at the age of 4 years continuing into a player’s collegiate years. A professional staff of highly trained instructors provide year round tennis programs based on the USTA QuickStart format – red ball, orange ball, green ball and regular ball. We offer home school and after school classes as well as various summer camps. We also have various junior teams that play out of Blackburn and we offer free coaching at numerous tournaments throughout the year. We have a passion for tennis and strive to share our enthusiasm with all junior players.

One of the premier tennis academies in the South, UTA has been training competitive junior players since 1995. Our passion is to help our juniors reach their potential as tennis players and as balanced individuals. We start by understanding each player’s goals and then work hard towards achieving them.
Finding the right drill group fit for each player is easy. UTA offers drill groups every day of the week that span the entire range of ages and skill levels. UTA’s junior development program is a comprehensive program. Drill groups are supported by a full service Strength and Conditioning Training program. In addition, we offer Private Coaching for players at all levels. The result is a complete player development program supported by a coaching staff of over 20 professionals with national and international playing and coaching experience. UTA has what it takes to help your child achieve their goals.

UTA has developed junior tennis players into Touring Professionals, NCAA Champions and All-Americans, and National Junior Gold Ball Winners. We have sent over 200 juniors to compete at the Collegiate Level. A few of our students that are former touring pros are Bobby Reynolds, Brian Vahaly, Amanda McDowell, Raian Luchici, Scoville Jenkins, Brett Ross, and Ansley Cargill.
1) RED (6 & Under):
- Program A - Monday/Wednesday 4:00-5:00 and Saturday 2:30-3:30
- Program B - Tuesday/Thursday 4:00-5:00 and Saturday 2:30-3:30
The cost of the program for 2 days a week (8x during the month) is $210. The cost of the program for 1 day a week (4x during the month) is $130. The two programs are not interchangeable…so players either come to Program A or Program B.
2) ORANGE/GREEN (10 & Under): We will offer two programs for 10 & Under. Please sign up for one of the two 10 & Under programs as the days cannot be interchanged.
- Program A: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday 3:30-5:00pm. Program A is a 2 day a week class commitment. The cost is $305 per month for any 8 classes a month.
- Program B: Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 4:00-5:00pm. Program B is a 2 day a week class commitment. The cost of 2 days a week is $210 for the month.
- Fitness Program: One day a week. The cost for one day is $60 per month.
3) Competitive and Competitive Prep Class (Competitive Prep is for players 11-14 with limited tennis experience):
- Program A: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5:00-7:00pm. This a two day a week class commitment. Cost is $405 for the month.
- Program B: Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 5:00-7:00pm. This is a two day a week class commitment. Cost is $405 for the month.
- Program C: Friday 5:00-7:00pm. This is a one day a week commitment. Cost is $225 for the month.
4) Next Generation:
- Tuesday and Thursday 5:00-7:00pm, and Saturday 2:00-4:00pm. This is a two-day-a-week class commitment. The cost is $405 for two days of class each week.
- If players want to attend 3-4 times per week, combine the Blackburn Next Gen class with the Georgia State University Dunwoody campus for additional days. 3/4 days a month is $605 for the month (Mon/Wed 5:00-7:00pm at Georgia State University Dunwoody campus).
5) High School: We will offer two programs for the High School Class. Please sign up for one of the two High School programs as the times cannot be interchanged.
- Program A: Monday & Wednesday 5:00-7:00pm & Saturday 2:00-4:00pm. Cost is $405 for the full month.
- Program B: Tuesday & Thursday 7:00-9:00pm & Saturday 2:00-4:00pm. Cost is $405 for the full month.
- If players want to attend 3-4 times per week, combine the Blackburn Next Gen class with the Georgia State University Dunwoody campus for additional days. 3/4 days a month is $605 for the month (Mon/Tue/Wed/Thurs 5:00-7:00pm at Georgia State University Dunwoody campus).
6) Elite:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5:00-8:00pm. The cost of 4 days a week is $605 for the month. Includes fitness and tennis. To be in the Elite class, you must have a UTR of 4. Class is rain or shine.
7) Excellence/Jr. Excellence:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5:00-7:00pm. The cost of 3/4 days a week is $605 for the month. To be in the Jr. Excellence class, you must have a UTR of a 5. To be in the Excellence class, you must have a UTR of a 6.

Junior Membership
All students participating at the Competitive level and above are required to pay an annual administrative fee of $150 (billed in August or prorated from start date). For seniors in high school and families with multiple children, the fee is $50 for each additional child.
Inclement Weather Policy
If drills are canceled due to inclement weather, students may attend their regular drill group on a day that they don't normally attend within that month. To receive rained-out information, sign up for Stringping (please contact the front desk for details).
Program Withdrawal
We require a 30-day written notice for withdrawal from the program. In the absence of a 30-day notice, a monthly drill charge will be assessed.
