Way to go, Josh!
The grip a player uses to hold the racket will define their tennis strokes. How you hold the racket will produce certain strengths and weaknesses. Come visit us at UTA to see if your grip needs any adjustments. Any adjustments to grips should be done during the off season as it will take time for a change to feel comfortable. Although a grip change may be awkward in the beginning, it may be a huge benefit in the long run. #UTATennisATL ... See MoreSee Less

Tennis is a fast paced game so preparation is extremely important. 🎾 Before the opponent's ball crosses the net, your shoulders need to be turned and your racket needs to be back so you are ready to swing forward. Early preparation is key to producing a high quality shot. Prepare early and great results will happen! #UTATennisATL ... See MoreSee Less

Susan Hazen-Balloon shared this with me. My son, William is 28 months into Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Please reach out via messenger if you'd like to speak with someone who's been on the journey. I'd be happy to share some of our experiences if it would help you. Please know that my son is in maintenance now and is a thriving 7th grader who runs Cross Country and plays basketball for his school. So while it's very overwhelming right now, it does even out. Peace and blessings to Lex and your family. Prayers for sure.

Many players in Atlanta go from one league season to the next in an endless stream of competitive matches. While competitions are often more exhilarating than taking lessons, this isn’t the best strategy to improve as a player. Instead, we encourage players to alternate between lessons and competitive play. Use your offseason lessons to add new shots and techniques to your arsenal, and implement them into your matches that follow. Take advantage of your time in training to learn a new drop shot, topspin lob, or one-handed backhand volley that takes your game to the next level. Big changes to your game can be difficult to achieve solely through league matches. As we always tell our students: add a shot, jump a level! #UTATennisATL ... See MoreSee Less

Nothing is more important to our partners, coaches and staff than making a difference in the communities where we live and work. Community service is more than lip service, it’s something we live and are grateful to do every day. 💛 UTA helps give back by helping organize a clothing and equipment drive for students of Washington Park. We have helped gather over 700 articles of new to slightly used clothes/equipment that has been distributed over the past 8 years. We care for our community and are grateful to be able to provide for those in need! #UTATennisATL ... See MoreSee Less
